Les 6, 7 et 8 août, Jazz UP vous donne rendez-vous à OPIO pour une nouvelle édition du festival Jazz UP Sous Les Oliviers, portée par une programmation aussi riche qu’exigeante.
Au cœur d’un cadre exceptionnel, le public retrouvera cette atmosphère singulière, propice à l’émotion et au partage pour vivre ensemble un moment rare et précieux.
Jeudi 6 août : Cascino Trio
Le Cascino Trio réunit Patrick Cascino (piano), Charly Thomas (contrebasse) et Luca Scalambrino (batterie). Ensemble, ils proposent un jazz vibrant mêlant improvisation, transe et lyrisme. Leur musique dépasse les frontières du jazz traditionnel en explorant des univers métissé aux couleurs méditerranéennes, africaines et latines, portés par une énergie sensible et profonde ils viennent présenter Follow the River, leur dernier opus paru en février 2026 : une rivière — parfois un torrent — de dialogues quasi télépathiques entre les trois musiciens, charriant tourbillons d’énergie et moments jubilatoires
Vendredi 7 août 2026 : Nicolas GARDEL Mano Figa
Nicolas GARDEL revient à Jazz UP Sous Les Oliviers en quartet avec un nouveau projet musical autobiographique dans lequel il rend hommage à sa mère et à ses origines hispaniques. Il invite à voyager dans son histoire entre Europe et Amérique du Sud. Mélant musique afro-caribéenne et flamenco, sans oublier des reprises de Monk, Duke ou Dizzy, il s’affirme comme un musicien important de sa génération, respectueux de l’histoire du jazz sachant le faire évoluer avec authenticité et originalité. Samedi 8 août 2026 : Route 66 N.J.O. invite Walter RICCI
Le crooner napolitain Walter RICCI accompagné par le Nice Jazz Orchestra revisite les tubes des années 60, une sélection de musiques qui ont marqué l’année 1966 arrangées par Pierre BERTRAND en gardant le style et l’esprit des titres originaux. L’année 1966 a été marquée par une créativité débordante sans précédent dans toutes les esthétiques musicales. Fondé en 2008 le N.J.O. nous propose un Big Band de 13 musiciens pour un jazz jubilatoire, vivant, enthousiasmant qui se projette toujours dans l’avenir et la création. Ecrin idéal pour accueillir le talentueux Walter RICCI qui démontre sa parfaite maitrise de la grande tradition des crooneurs d’outre-Atlantique, évoluant avec un grand naturel du jazz à la Pop.

Thursday, 6th of August: Cascino Trio
The Cascino Trio brings together Patrick Cascino (piano), Charly Thomas (double bass), and Luca Scalambrino (drums). Together, they offer vibrant jazz blending improvisation, trance, and lyricism. Their music goes beyond the boundaries of traditional jazz by exploring mixed worlds with Mediterranean, African, and Latin colors, carried by a sensitive and profound energy. They are here to present Follow the River, their latest album released in February 2026: a river — sometimes a torrent — of almost telepathic dialogues between the three musicians, carrying whirlpools of energy and joyful moments.
Friday, 7th of August: Nicolas GARDEL Mano Figa
Nicolas GARDEL returns to Jazz UP Sous Les Oliviers with a quartet for a new autobiographical musical project in which he pays tribute to his mother and his Hispanic roots. He invites us to travel through his story between Europe and South America. Blending Afro-Caribbean music and flamenco, without forgetting covers of Monk, Duke, or Dizzy, he establishes himself as an important musician of his generation, respectful of jazz history while knowing how to evolve it with authenticity and originality. Neapolitan crooner Walter RICCI, accompanied by the Nice Jazz Orchestra, revisits the hits of the 60s, a selection of music that marked the year 1966, arranged by Pierre BERTRAND while keeping the style and spirit of the original songs. The year 1966 was marked by unprecedented overflowing creativity across all musical aesthetics. Founded in 2008, the N.J.O. offers us a 13-piece Big Band delivering joyful, lively, and thrilling jazz that always looks toward the future and new creations. It’s the perfect setting to showcase the talented Walter RICCI, who demonstrates his perfect mastery of the great tradition of crooners from across the Atlantic, moving naturally from jazz to pop.
